The REZ Factor - Heat 9
Thursday 7th April 2011
Well after a week off due to the Goths, The Rez Factor returned at The Resolution and it proved to be a good night with a good crowd and a total of seven singers entering the competition.
Singing 1st was Andy who this time had a go at "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" by Green Day again. It was a very respectable version of the song and it seemed to go down that well with the audience who gave him a decent round of applause.
Next up was Christine who sang "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles. This was performed quite well and it came across very clearly in places. She received a good round of applause and it was good enough for her to be voted into 3rd place.
The next singer was Alan who sang "Dance The Night Away" by The Mavericks. He sang it very clear and powerfully and did the song justice with a good performance. He received a good cheer and applause from the audience. For his hard work he received joint 2nd place on the night.
The fourth singer was John who this week tried "Mad World", again, by Michael Andrews & Gary Jules. Always a very popular tune on karaoke, John didn’t disappoint with a good version of the song. He was appreciated by the audience as he finished.
Up next was Kassy who tried her luck again with "Sundown" by S Club 8. Always sung very well and confidently, Kassy put in a good performance and received a nice round of applause. It was good enough for her to gain joint 2nd place along with Alan.
Adam was the sixth singer and chose to sing "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty. Almost pitch perfect, he didn’t disappoint with a good performance of this popular rock ballad. Even though half the song was taken up by instrumental breaks he still received a very good round of applause and cheers at the end of the song.
And finally the last singer was Emily who sang "Never Ever" by All Saints. She performed this song quite well although seemed to lose her way a couple of times singing this popular ballad. She did though receive a good round of applause.
So that was it! Now it was up to the audience
to decide who they wanted to win the heat.
After all the votes had been placed and counted I revealed that the winner of Heat 9 and a place in the Grand Final on the 21st April was....
Adam Holden !!
Adam accepted his place in the grand final and collected 7 beer tokens for winning the heat.
I hope to see you all again next week for the last heat of this years Rez Factor !!
