The REZ Factor - Heat 3
Thursday 17th February 2011

Heat 3 of The Rez Factor drew in a large crowd which

resulted in a large entry into the competition with a total

of 10 people singing for a place in the grand final.

Singing first was Whitby legend Karaoke Kris who this week sang the popular song by Smokie, "Alice". Kris certainly got into the song very quickly, and loudly, and continued to belt it out in the only way he knows how!

The 2nd singer was Christine who chose to sing "Alone" by Heart. She has sung this song a few times before and it showed in a confident performance. She received a generous round of applause.

The next singer was Leyla, Christine's daughter, who sang "Broken Strings" by James Morrison. Leyla has a natural powerful voice and she showed it off well through this nice rock ballad. She received a very loud cheer and applause as she finished. The performance was good enough to earn Leyla 2nd place on the night.

Up next was Boro man Davie who sang "Human" by The Killers. He sang this song very well and it was well received by the audience who sang and danced along to this popular song.

Singing 5th was Amanda who chose to sing "Fever" by Peggy Lee. Amanda has quite a sultry voice and this song suited her and it showed in a good performance. The audience showed their appreciation as she finished.

The next person to enter was Tim who decided to have a go at Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance". Tim has a very deep, unique voice and he certainly moved around the room a lot during his performance, much to the amusement and surprise of many people.

The 7th entrant of the heat was Emma who chose to sing Sheryl Crow's version of "The First Cut Is The Deepest". This was, as always by Emma, sung very confidently and she put it a very good performance which received a good cheer and applause from the audience. It was good enough to earn Emma 3rd place on the night.

Andy was our next singer who once again tried his luck with "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. I think there was a little improvement from last weeks performance, but not much.

The next singer was Kassy who this week tried out the song "F.U.R.B." by Frankie. Although the song was sung very well, i think a few people were put off by the amount of swear words and put downs there are in the lyrics of this particular song.

And finally, our 10th singer was Adam. This week Adam had a go at "Thong Song" by Sisqo. Although not his best vocal, he was encouraged by a large group of family and friends who gave him a massive cheer and applause as he finished his performance.

So that was it. I sent all the votes out to everyone in the room who were told to decide who they wanted to win tonights heat. After all the votes were handed in and counted i reveiled that the winner of Heat 3 and a place in the grand final was...

Adam Brown !!

Adam came up to collect his 10 beer tokens and accepted

his place in the grand final on 21st April.

It was a very good night and i hope to see you all again

next week for some more Rez Factor !
