Heat 2 of the Rez Factor got underway with a large audience waiting in antcipation for the competition to begin. We had a large number of entrants too with eight people taking to the microphone, all eager to gain a place in the grand final.

The first singer on the night was Andy who sang "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. Andy has sung this song many times and gave a good opening, confident performance.

Up next was Ed who belted out the Stevie Wonder classic "Superstition". As always, Ed sang this very well and with good ability hitting the top notes. He received a good cheer as he finished.

The third singer was Whitby’s own Karaoke Kris. Tonight he decided to have a go at "Mandy" by Westlife. Sung as always in his own unique style, he performed it the best of his ability.

Emma was our next performer who sang "Think Twice" by Celine Dion. Always pitch perfect, she didn’t disappoint with a flawless performance of this popular ballad. She received a tremendous round of applause at the end of the song.

Singing 5th was Adam who this week tried his luck with a song called "The Most Beautiful Girl In The Room" by The Flight Of The Concords. An unusual song to most, he sang it very well and it was well received at the end. It was good enough to earn Adam 2nd place!

Singing next was pensioner Helen who performed "White Flag" by Dido. Helen has a nice mature voice and did this song justice by singing it very clear and crisp. She received a nice round of applause as she finished.

Kassy was the next singer to take to the mic and this week she had a go at "Sundown" by S Club 8. This was performance with good confidence and with a little dance routine which pleased some of the gentlemen. She received a good cheer and applause from the audience.

And finally the last singer was Steve who sang "You Do Something To Me" by Paul Weller. Steve had good support with him as they cheered along to his good performance. It was good enough to earn him 3rd place on the night.

So that was it! Now it was up to the audience to decide who they wanted to win the heat.

After all the votes had been placed and counted I revealed that the winner of Heat 2 and a place in the Grand Final on the 21st April was....

Emma Covell !

Emma accepted her place in the grand final and collected 8 beer tokens for winning the heat.
