The REZ Factor - Heat 1

^{So the Rez Factor returned on a very stormy night here at The Resolution in Whitby. But it did still draw in a good crowd with five entrants into the competition.}

^{Before the contest started i was pleased to bring up the microphone, last years winner, Danielle Shipman who sang one of her winning songs from last year. She performed Cher's "If I could turn back time" in good voice and was much appreciated by the audience.}

^{So the competition started with our 1st singer, Adam H. He sang the classic "Lean On Me" by Bill Withers. He sang it very well but didn't really look comfortable singing it. He did however receive a good round of applause as he finished.}

^{Singing next was Whitby Legend Karaoke Kris. No stranger to these types of competitions, Kris went straight for the throat with the Kings Of Lean track "Sex On Fire". He sang it as always in his own unique style and had good support from a section of the audience. He gained enough votes to be placed runner up on the night.}

^{Our third entrant, and only female, was Kassy who decided to sing "Let It Be" by The Beatles. She performed it extremely well although i felt this song is slighty out of her vocal range. She did enough though to gain 3rd place.}

^{Our fourth entrant was Jack who sang an unfamiliar song to most, "Maria Maria" by Santana. It was quite a good upbeat latino song which Jack took in his stride and sang very confidently. He was rewarded with a very good cheer and round of applause as he finished.}

^{And our final entrant for heat 1 was Jack's brother Adam B. He decided to have a go at the Eric Clapton number "I Shot The Sheriff". It was quite obvious to most, including Adam himself, that he hadn't sung this song for quite a while. He still enjoyed it though (i think) and received generous applause from the audience.}

^{So that was it! We'd heard all the performers and now it was down to the audience to decide who they wanted to win.}

^{After all the votes were counted i revealed that the winner of Heat 1 and a place in the Grand Final on 21st April was...}

^{Jack Brown !}

^{Jack came up to accept his place in the final and collected 5 beer tokens from the bar for winning heat 1.}

^{I hope to see you all again next week for Heat 2 of The Rez Factor!}
